Back in the spring, my writing group was working on a color theme with flowery things as the prompt. They came as follows:

When I saw the first one, I knew these were destined to become yarn.
I gathered up my bins of scraps and sat with my drum carder. It wasn’t a surprise that I had nearly all of the colors. And the ones I didn’t have I could blend a little of this and that and they magically appeared. I should say I didn’t card any of these until the first 8 prompts had come and gone. There were more than 8 in the end, but for some reason I thought 8 was what I wished to arrange.

Once I got to carding my plan shifted, and I knew this had to be an Entrelac project. I nearly always have one on the go and it is my knitting happy place, one of them anyway. I layered the colors on the drum carder, and when I pulled the batt off, I tore it vertically into 4 strips. Each strip was spread sideways across the drum. Those were then pulled off and rolled into a giant Roland which was spun from the end, one after the next. The resulting yarn is each colorway repeated four times and continual, one after the next.
Next comes the yarn…
